My Jewish grandfather has survived the Holocaust by forging his family tree, successfully posing as Arian. He was one of the “scientists” who lead the torture programmes, for which he also used his children and grandchildren.
Only books, such as Orwell’s “1984,” really helped me to understand the world I experienced and to change it. The greatest power against oppression I found was with my writing, which I had started aged twelve. Today, I am a full time writer.
I have a degree in North American Literature and Culture and a degree for Modern German Literature. Currently, I chair a Novelists’ Support Group. I have lived in four countries, ran my own business, and I am a practitioner of Krav Maga and MMA.
